Some Mistakes Have Been Made

I really messed up my exit from Substack. I chose a service that’s harder to manage from a technical standpoint, misread some directions when I imported my subscribers (thereby losing the vast majority of them), and found myself back at square one in many respects. I also changed web hosts and managed to mangle my website during this same time frame. Good times, friends.

I now understand why rational people pay other people to do these things. I’m not a technophobe. I’m good at following directions (usually), and I’m patient with new user interfaces and unfamiliar systems. But this has been a whole other thing.

Anyway, I’m figuring things out and will (hopefully) be back to my regular schedule soon.

So, consider this post a soft launch. Although my first “real” post will be on Friday, I wanted to be sure my RSS to email feed was working properly before sending my inaugural newsletter to my three or so remaining subscribers. (Heavy sigh.)

If you want to know what I’ve been up to, I’ve basically been turning into an opossum. OK, bye!
